A dream for a day

We have a fun story for today. We'll start from the beginning.
It was the school holidays, we were around 11 years old and attending a birthday party.  It was a combination of a pool party and fun time.

The memory is vague on how we actually met at this party but it lands up with us playing over at other identical twins. We were fascinated that they were blond and fair; the opposite of our obvious appearance. We wanted to be friends for life on the basis that we were a set of identical twins! We basically shared the same life right? (Insert a reassuring nod of the head here)

The illusion started in our heads of the olders being best buds and the youngers being inseparable. Let me tell you now that did not happen, but at least we shared an adventure for a day.

So the day began with the eager excitement of "when are we leaving?" and the nerves of "are we there yet?" Finally after many giggles and gabbles we arrived at their place; we stepped out the car being welcomed by their mum; the girls were right behind her, they must of felt as shy as we did because they were a bit hesitant at first. After our parent left, it was up to the four of us to make this day rad. We had to rekindle that flame of "best buds" that we felt at the party.

So here we are two sets of twin girls, who have at this point in our lives never spent a whole day with other twin girls - and sort of strangers too. But as time would have it, we were having so much fun. We spent the day wearing one of their many fashionable swimsuits; jumping in and out of the pool and taking photos of one another; talking about our grandmothers. We even got to try a strange type of cold meat. It was yellow and...well lets just say we didn't like it; but that didn't kill our buzz.

Life was right in the world that day. Just as we felt we could all be sisters it was time to leave and with our school holidays coming to an end we knew keeping in touch would be difficult, the friendship never bloomed further than that day but it was a golly good time we had.
And that concludes the story of our one and only day spent with another set of identical twin girls.
