For our third blog we’ve decided to bring in the three
questions we are often asked.
Alright, we’ve just met and exchanged names and greetings.
The first question normally looks like this:
“What’s it like being a twin?”
We seem to have an automatic answer to this: “it’s awesome!
We always have someone who gets us. It saves many awkward moments and we always
know someone in the room.”
If you know us and asked this question, you’ve probably heard that very answer. (We see you smiling)

The hidden truth is it’s a bit of an awkward one to answer, not because we
don’t like the question; but because we don’t know any different. How do we
answer that not knowing what it’s like to not share a birthday? So we try to
imagine being a ‘singlet’ and we were able to come up our answer. (We’re still
looking for a better answer)
The one that normally comes after this one is:
“When she is in pain can you feel it?”
We know there have been twins who do and we’ve heard stories.
Twinling 1 is living on one side of the country; she broke her arm and was sent
to hospital. Twinling 2 is on the other side; BOOM all of a sudden there’s an immense
pain in her arm. She doesn’t know what just happened or where this sudden burst
came from…Later in the evening Twinling 2 finds out Twinling 1 broke her arm in
the exact same location she was experiencing the pain.
This stuff happens!
We do have some stories when we were in separate locations and one of us had a feeling to call the other to find out if everything is ‘ok’ and it happened to be at that moment some encouragement was needed. But we personally don’t think that’s some kind of telepathic communication. On other occasions when we’re with each other and we know something is 'up' it’s generally because we know each other very well.

After you’ve watched us engage with each other the question that comes after this is:
“Do you do everything together?”
There are twins who don’t do many things together, but you
don’t realise because the other twinling isn’t with them so you might think of
them as a singlet. (No judgement on that; we aren’t using our angry tones)
For us we enjoy allot of the same things.
It’s really cool to have somebody you know who loves doing the same things. There’s so much adventure you can experience because of this benefit. And many look at it as a down fall, but it really isn’t; we love it!

Our friends always tell us “The world would be crazy if there were two of me!”
We on the other hand say “The world would be crazy if we were one person!”
Tell us some of the thoughts you’ve had if you were to be a twin and what it would be like? If you are a twin let us know how you answer these questions; we want to know to!
You can comment on the blog or tweet us; we also have a
Facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/twinningit
If I had a twin I would tell everyone; "there is another one of us running around"...
ReplyDeletethis cracked us up! we like it!
