Today's Twice As Nice interview has had a take over, meet Kelly; Michael and Sarah. Our first Thrice As Nice post! (Get more info on triplets: Thrice As Nice)
In the month of October 1995 exactly 8 days before most Dutch telephone numbers were changed to 10 digits the triplets were born. Kelly is older than Michael by one minute and Sarah is the youngest by two; they have an older brother Jared who proceeds them by six years.
We asked Michael what has been one of the strangest question he's been asked, "So you guys have the same birthday?" he replies with "Obviously, that's what triplet means." They all agreed that people find it difficult to believe they are in fact triplets.
Although they are triplets they are not the same. Michael and Sarah both love to body board, while Kelly and Sarah enjoy watching series and often think the same things "Almost like twin telepathy" Kelly states. However Kelly and Michael are more similar in appearance; this wasn't the easiest for Sarah to face, often she struggled with her body image seeing that she had to work hard to stay slim while her siblings were slender naturally. In her final words on this topic she states: "I've only accepted it very recently that i'm just made differently."
While Sarah struggled with her body image Kelly often felt as if she was in the shadows of her younger siblings, too afraid to speak. She voices "but they always helped me, i got better and better. I became more independent and confident." We at TwinningIt celebrate the conquers of inner struggles especially between siblings.
Michael has felt that the girls have had more between each other in their relationship, the girls stated that before they hadn't felt so close to Michael; but now things have changed. Kelly and Sarah both agree that recently they've become really close with Michael. Both stating that he is protective over his two sisters. We at TwinningIt think this is the sweetest thing!
Kelly admits that she have wondered what it would be like to be an only child, but expresses they have always looked out for each other and the type of special bond that flows between the three is special and she wouldn't want it any other way.
Sarah speaks clearly in saying that being a triplet includes companionship without having to look for friends. It's a great way to put into words what their special bond is like.
Here is some Thrice As Nice advice:
Kelly: Family is everything; together you are stronger than when you stand alone.
Sarah: A bond this special isn't a mistake and it doesn't come around often. Be happy with who you are as an individual before you can be happy with yourself as a unit.
We love the simplicity of Michael's answer: Just be lekker, happy and grateful!
