The Ol' switcharoo

Rocking it out in our Spice Girls shoes
We recently read the story of twins Ronald and Donald Anderson whose claim to fame was "One twin does the crime, the other does the time." (Read their story here)

This got us to thinking of the first time we pulled the ol' switcharoo. In second grade we were in separate classes. Evangeline's teacher, who had a reputation of being strict and slightly terrifying, had asked to meet with the both of us during break. We were alarmed!

The time came to meet with her, Miss H and it felt as though the saliva in our mouths had dried up from fright. Our mind was telling us to run, but our knees could hardly keep us standing due to the hard knocking against each other. (these might be slight exaggerations, but you get the point... we were scared)

We were ushered into her class, which wasn't an unexpected move. (If we were to be eaten by a dragon it was going to happen in a private place right?) As we sat down the thought of finding a chicken bone accrued, maybe we could pull off a Hansel and Gretel move by saying we were too skinny to eat... only bone (And we all know our mom would agree, she knows the struggle was real every time she tried to feed us)

The teacher finally opened her mouth, (ready to have lunch perhaps?) but to our surprise she was very friendly to us. She had started talking about a possible game. We were getting excited here. The rules were on Friday after lunch break we would do the ol' switcharoo. We were reassured that this wouldn't be an everyday event; only once in a life time. Miss H continued by saying her and Edelweiss' teacher, Miss M were in fact long time friends and all that she wanted to do was play a joke. No harm in that right? Wrong!

The day finally arrived for the big exchange to happen. After break we took our places and began with the plan. School carried on and only a select few knew what was going down. Time was passing and the knock on the door had not come. We were beginning to think no one would notice and we were stuck this way until the end of the day; but finally Miss H said it was time to get down to business. She took Edelweiss by the hand and led her over to her class (which was next door.) When the news came out of what went down Miss M was in awe!
What happened next was unexpected...

Miss M didn't take this as well as we thought she would, she started crying at the disappointment she felt at not knowing her student enough to know a change had been made. After Miss H and Evangeline had left both classes were in complete shock. Miss M had gone to her desk to calm herself from the surprise while Miss H arrived back to her class and received full amusement from her students.

This was our golden switcharoo. The rest could never compete to this one... so far
