Twice As Nice: Tina and Tanya

Today's story starts with an unusual occurrence. Identical twins Tina and Tanya were actually once triplets. Unfortunately their sibling did not fully form in the womb and was declared dead at seven months. (Read more about triplets here: Thrice As Nice)

However life was still celebrated on the 10th of May 1994 by the arrival of two beautiful baby girls, Tina showed up first and Tanya punched the clock two minutes later. On this same day the earth experienced an annular solar eclipse and our dearly beloved Nelson Mandela was sworn in as South Africa's first black president; what a day to be brought into this world.

The ladies reveal that their greatest accomplishment is their relationship of 20 years together.
We asked the girls to describe each other in one word; Tanya emphasized Tina as supportive and Tina stated Tanya as being helpful. They further describe their relationship as "deep, crazy and adventurous."
A sibling "Golden Rule" (So no one will be killed) is the "don't touch" rule; so for Tina it's her stationary  bits and bobs while Tanya admits it's her clothes. (We here at TwinningIt understand the "No Touchie" rule)

Tina explained herself as a tom boy who wanted to work in the police army while Tanya communicated that she is a lover of make-up, dresses and heels who wanted to become a fashion designer.

Growing up the girls were placed in the same class twice during school, they felt they had became unhealthily dependent on each other. In some occasions separating twins after they have become strongly dependent on one another can be a very difficult situation, for these girls though they say they know they have each other's backs no matter what comes their way, but sharing a class wasn't for them.

They too have experienced strange questions, such as "Are you related?" "If Tina has a headache will Tanya have one at the same time?" and our personal favorites: "Will you get married at the same time?" "Will it be to the same brothers?" We too have received some of these questions as well, you can read more of that here: Three Questions

Their fondest memory together was the day they received their cellphones. Here at TwinningIt we remember the first time we received our phones we can definitely relate to the buzz that only a cellphone can bring. Both girls share an interest in the media world; they mostly savor the joy of photography.

In their piece of advice the girls had to say: "Enjoy every minute of having your twin. Take advantage, have adventures."
